The home page

I collaborated with Sasha back in 2018 on the qwf.org website. It was a pleasure to work with the QWF team again in 2023 to develop and launch the new literary database website. The previous version of quebecbooks.qwf.org launched in 2006.

Melissa is an absolute pleasure to work with. She easily communicates technical information and is knowledgeable about WordPress as well as third-party services. She’s been a great collaborator for a number of projects and I’m always excited for an opportunity to work with her.

This project needed to:

  1. migrate 2400 books
    • I used the WP All Import Pro plugin to migrate the author and book data from the previous website. Later on, I trained the QWF team on how to import books and authors in the future.
  2. be accessible on all devices
    • The original QWF Literary Database website was not mobile-friendly. The new website works flawlessly on all device sizes.
  3. improve the search experience
    • All data on the new website is searchable. Users can search for general terms (such as “montreal”) and even enter a specific ISBN number.
The website’s Awards page and a book record on desktop.
